What's going on here?!?!?

I posted an adorably sweet video of my 2 monsters yesterday on Facebook.  I've had a few people tell me they couldn't understand what my son was saying.  He said, and I quote, "Sayonara, we're moving to Japan".  That was immediately followed by my daughter screaming her version of "Sayonara".  Sooooo, they pretty much summed it up.  WE ARE MOVING TO JAPAN.  Crazy, huh?  Casey will leave at the end of January and we will join him mid-March.  That's if we make it through the 16-hour plane journey alive.....

For those of you asking why, how, where, how long.....here's all the info I have.  This off-season Casey became a free agent.  So, the last 2 months have been spent sifting through our options both here in America and in other countries.  Casey was offered positions here in the major leagues but they weren't the "type" of job he wanted.  His heart is in playing baseball so he decided that he wanted to go to the place that he could play the most.  It just so happens that place is in Japan.  This decision doesn't mean he will never play in the states again; right now we have no idea what the future holds beyond this season.  That's God's job, so I'm going to try to leave it up to Him.  Casey will be playing for the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Sendai, Japan.  One of his teammates from the Yankees this year is playing there too.  Andruw Jones will also be there so I'm sure it help Casey having someone there he knows.  Sendai has a population of over 1 million so we will be in a fairly large city.  Of course we have concerns about how we will manage there considering Mack's medical needs but I'm sure we will work through it just fine.  We do still plan to come back in the off-season and live in our home in Tennessee.  We should be back sometime in October or November.  We are so very thankful that our nanny, Michelle, is going to come with us.  The kids love her and she's a HUGE help.

So, that's our next adventure!!!  If any of you have ever visited Japan or have any great knowledge you want to share I would love to hear it.
